1st ARTG 135 Field Trip Ron Miriello Studio
1st field trip of the Semester was very cool, Ron was a very easy going down to earth person it was a pleasure to listen to his many years of being in the industries wisdom.
When 1st walked in he greeted us, asked our names and proceeded to write our names on blue painters tape to which we would use later as name tags. Well i'm not too swift at taking notes yet but what i do have is Ron Miriello is the Founder and Director Miriello Grafico and specializes in Brand Expression, he was born and raised in Colorado where he attended Colorado State University he then moved to Italy where he received his Design Degree from La Poggerina. Ron taught for about 2 years there in Italy as well, he eventually moved to San Diego and has 30 years of his creative graphic design concepts spread throughout San Diego. Ron is also very big into restoring old Italian bicycles where he has displayed at his personal design studio in Barrio Logan, a place he goes to to get away and work on his own personal hobbies, and creative works outside his design firm. Ron loves to create works out of ordinary things you would find around your house, shed, work environments and whatsoever. he takes old things such as engine blocks, old brooms or broom handles, books, wheels,globes, tool, whatever and makes interesting works of art, he has numerous sketchbooks where he comes up with ideas for new projects for himself and for areas around Italy where he frequents on a regular basis helping the people and city's as a way of giving back to the communities.
Ron had a lot more words of wisdom its just that i was so enthralled in all his experience and experiences it was hard to write it all down but he invited each of us back for any type of guidance or support.
